What can I expect at each event?
Glitch
Our weekly hangout event is hosted at Universal on Oxford Street every Monday night*. The general vibe is to come in and socialise so we’ll have consoles and board games scattered around
* Not including Public Holidays
Mega Glitch
Glitch gets taken over for a special event. These can be tournaments but we also have takeovers such as when PlayStation have joined in on the fun. You can expect drag hosts and shows as well as the potential to win some prizes
SideQuest
The original, and still the best. The community meets on the last Friday of the month to game together while our DJ spins some tunes and drag performers put on some shows. Try your luck at the raffle to see what nerdy prizes you can win
Board Gaymes
Come chill out with board games that vary from simple to complex, the music will be turned down and everyone is welcome to bring their own to see if they can recruit some geeks to try out a new game or an old favourite
Pixel Party
Our flagship club events. Expect to see even more drag, DJs, and to party on the dance floor all night. Show up on theme and you can typically expect to strut your stuff on the runway in a best-dressed competition. We’re still gaymers though, so look around for consoles set up if you want to get some gaming time in
Mardi Gras
Sydney Gaymers have been marching every year, keep your eyes peeled towards the end of a year for announcements about our float for the next year. Everyone is welcome to march with us but spots are often limited so jump in fast and see what costume ideas you can come up with
FAQs
Is there an entry fee for events?
The majority of our events such as Glitches, SideQuests, and Board Gaymes are not ticketed and anyone can come. Other events may have entry fees which will be listed on their event pages
I want to attend a ticketed event but I’m experiencing financial difficulty
Sydney Gaymers is an inclusive community and we want to ensure everyone can join in on our events. So if you’re experiencing financial difficulty, please reach out to the admin via admin@sydneygaymers.net so we can see what we can do to help
I have questions or concerns at an event, who is there to help?
Our team of Admins, supported by our Events Crew, are present at all official Sydney Gaymers events. You can identify us by looking for the lanyards we’ll be wearing letting you know our name and role
I don’t know anyone in the community and I’m nervous about attending
Many of us can relate but that’s something our team of volunteers are here to help with. The Admin and Events Crew will always be around at official events, so look for the lanyards and come say “hi”, we’ll be happy to talk and introduce you to the community members around
